Local Places on the Web
Jim Hunter - a local legend.Jim Hunter, of Glenuig and Lochailort, is a well-known local musician whose music can be heard at the Hall in Glenuig. If you are not fortunate enough to be in the cottage, or the area, for one of his concerts then his website will tell you all you need to know about his music.
The Best Smokehouse in TownGlenuig is the home of some of the best of Scottish smoked produce. You can order a huge range of meat and fish, smoked in the village of Glenuig online. However, better still, go and visit Simon in the smokehouse, a short walk from Viking Cottage and buy something for lunch or to take home with you. We particularly recommend the smoked venison which is gorgeous in a salad or with some crusty bread.
Rowan Cottage Kitchen - for fantastic pies and picklesRichard and Mary make wonderful pies, pickles and other delicious things to eat. We recently feasted on one of their pies which was meaty with really crumbly pastry. Everything is made by them using local ingredients and a touch of magic. Order ahead of time to ensure you have what you need for a wonderful picnic.
